Overview

Chike Ball Heads Left/Right

After several years of use, you may experience space between the handlebars and the 2 front wheels of your Chike. This can be tested by holding 1 front wheel with 1 hand and moving the handlebars back and forth with the other hand. The ball heads closest to the front wheels wear out fastest.
Steering ball heads come in 2 variants: 1x right-hand threaded and 1x left-hand threaded. This can be seen by the number displayed on the ball head. The ball heads are made of plastic.  A locknut is immediately attached to the ball head. When the ball head is in the correct position, use two spanners to tighten the locknut against the main body. The thin plastic between the locknut and ball head will break.

Tip: The bolt used to screw the ball head into the steering gear should be smeared with Lock-tite!
